The Outwood Institute of Education’s (OIE) annual Women into Leadership programme, first launched in 2018, has commenced with its newest cohort, offering a unique opportunity for female teaching and support staff to develop their leadership potential.

Gosia Watts, teacher at Outwood Primary Academy Park Hill, has been recognised as the Gold Winner of the Award for Teacher of the Year in a Primary School, in the 2025 Pearson National Teaching Awards, considered the ‘Oscars’ of the teaching profession. The exclusive reveal was mentioned last night on BBC’s The One Show, ahead of a glamorous awards ceremony taking place this weekend.

The Outwood Family of Schools (Outwood Grange Academies Trust – OGAT) has scooped an award win at the Connect Yorkshire Business Awards, held on Thursday, November 20th, at the AMT Headingley Stadium.

Outwood Academy Acklam has been awarded the national Quality in Careers Standard under licence by Ixion (Part of the Shaw Trust Group). The Quality in Careers Standard is awarded to schools and education providers who can demonstrate the importance they place on careers and how they support students to make decisions about their life after school.
